“It’s up to us to recognize what we need. To reframe the seeking process as not self-indulgent but instead, necessary practice for communal care. Empathy grows from understanding our histories and the context in which we arise.”
You wrote a piece on solitude and I wrote a piece on community and somehow this line would fit in both. Lovely words and lovely photos, can’t wait for the zine!
yet again - hard relate, especially pondering life from, in, the alleyway. would totes peruse a photo zine, even if I don't quite know what it is (print, zine, images?? old school, no matter, yes yes yes.
although, memory - upon moving to portland, I once did a 24 hour zine challenge and proposed photos, and was shot down).
“There’s an irony to leaving Alaska and flying across the world to a densely-populated area in search of solitude”
I think about this all the time
and yet, we find it... 🙃
Which would your photozine be: Me-zine or Where-I-was-zine? Solitude is necessary, and glad you found some. Lovely self-in-reflection images.
